What a generation has developed to make fun of founding fathers who have accomplished more than most could in one’s lifetime. The painting is truly history in art.
Ralph, I don’t think he’s making fun of the painting or the founding fathers. I think it’s much more a commentary on how our elected officials act today, and what their priorities are, in contrast with the actual great moments in history like the one depicted here.
I do note — on a (much) lesser plane — that they seem to be very delighted to display their shoes and stockings.__Makes them seem much more like the “Tea Party” of today, doesn’t it…!
