Alice: I'm bored with my presents. Can I play with your moose? Petey: Sure! My Christmas, by Peter Otterloop. I'm not sure what "sugar plums" are, but I dreamed about them last night. Yes, they were dancing. It was annoying. Alice woke me up at dawn. Then she went flying down the stairs... and landed on the presents. Presents: Best, new Little Neuro book. Worst, marmalade. Confusingest, another ceramic moose from Grandma. It was a good Christmas.

Alice, how can you be bored with a ketchup fountain? Merry Christmas!
Ida No about 13 years ago
My guess – no fountain. Just some cockroaches eating the fallen pasta.

What a delightful, smile-inducing strip. Thank you Petey! Glad the Sugar Plum question is finally cleared up. Seems intuitively correct.

The idea of sweets in ancient times (and in other parts of the world for that matter) differ greatly from those mainly valued in the US now. I put on a few pounds last week with zuchinni bread from a friend and sampling the vinegar butterscotch and cranberry oatmeal cookies that I made to share with sweet loving people. I was also looking up recipes for Amaretti and plan to make some for next weekend (lost those 3# that I gained).

Well thanks all who answered the eternal question, “what the heck is a Sugar Plum?” But I think Petey is right, they still sound very annoying.
