I took the ACT in 72 and scored a composite of 28. Most colleges east of the Mississippi use the SAT while most colleges west of the Mississippi use the ACT. I took the ACT planning to go to the University of Iowa but in the middle of the summer I changed my plans and came east to school. I have been in the state of South Carolina every since. Fortunately the school that I choose is one of the exceptions to the east/west SAT/ACT divide and I was able to use my ACT score.
