"Rob, what makes the sky blue?" "Ooo, good question, Satch. Well, it's all physics, obviously." "Basically, white light from the sun is split into different colors by the nitrogen and oxygen particles in the atmosphere..." "So the sky appears blue to us on the ground simply because of the angle that a blue wavelength refracts at." "But it changes as the sun is near the horizon, so sunsets and sunrises appear red...It's called Rayleigh scattering." "The idea that the other wavelengths are absorbed is a common misconception, of course." "Mm-hm. Mm-hm." "OK, I thought they meant the sky was sad...Explain 'blue' now..." "Rob, what makes Satchel so green?"
