I believe it was Satchel in Get Fuzzy who made the immortal remark: “I’m meeting my own expectations.” Indeed.

Agnes, now you know it, don’t be afraid to dump Trout.

If you’re going to be dumping friends, it’s a good idea to have more than one before you start.

I don’t actually believe I’m in the minority, but count me as a supporter of Trout. Sure, she speaks truths to Agnes that Agnes would prefer not to hear, but she always follows along willingly with all of Agnes’s crazy plans, and if push came to shove Trout would be there whenever Agnes needed her. And if you define a “friend” as somebody who will always stroke your ego, has Agnes ever been that sort of friend to Trout?

Nonetheless…there are TIMES when old friends just so arouse THAT…you know, like you call your dog and then when it comes you beat it? after a while even a DOG will stop showing up. There’s got to be some positive input from any friend…or…you just don’t know those people any more.

I’m with Fritzoid on this. I think Trout is as devoted and loyal as any friend could be, and that Agnes would never actually dump her.

I’m also constantly amazed that people who are long-time comics lovers take every sarcastic thing Trout, Agnes and Grandma say to each other as dead serious.

Agnes wrote that last line just to show Trout - zing!
