My mother-in-law stayed out of the room like somebody was having a chest x-ray, convinced it would cook her insides from ten feet away. Later, she became a convert, though.
I bought my Mom a microwave for Christmas in the mid-80s. Yesterday, the lightbulb burned out, but otherwise it still works fine. Now, if I could just get the little screw out to open the place to replace the bulb, I’d be fine. But, after 20+ years it isn’t moving.

I managed it myself. You build up some muscles helping your mother move that full-sized CRT-style television, let me tell you…

Our house Capt. at the Fire Station called it the $600.00 bun warmer. Needless to say he was not impressed, but our cook came to love it.
