Can we assume we now know why we haven’t seen Patty’s boyfriend lately? Or ever will again once she wears that tee.

Leaky, I need your help. I saw your post telling Dazz to have a fried egg and bacon. C’mon, you can’t ruin poor Dazz with venial sins like that! Gotta be mortal sins, and lots of them. Let’s put on a real hell and damnation breakfast. I know you can find some place in NO that can do this. Skip the Mimosas and go straight to the Dom for starters. Get some buttermilk biscuits from someone who really knows how to make ‘em—so light you have to turn the bowl over to keep them from floating away. Partner them with paper thin slices of real country ham; the rock-hard marroon stuff. Then French-style scrambled eggs, half butter and creamy and custardy. Deliver the coup de grace with shrimp grits. Round it out with coffee that will dissolve a silver spoon. Finally repair to the verandah (doesn’t everyone have a verandah?) with a bottle of Maker’s Mark and two glasses.

Be carefull what you wish for – you might actually get it.

    “Tape” Smurfs?

Keep PBS and TCM. The only decent progamming available and commercial-free at that.

Hello All — It’s a bright and shiny new day in Crustwood…

Breakfast sounds good, Mikie — you cookin’?

Poor Patty — “Y me?” is about right!

Joy wouldn’t get that the shirt says exactly what her daughter ought to do…. RUN, Patty, RUN!!

The shirt may be unwearable, but the advice is pure gold.

    pssstt…. Joy!! …. The tag…. the tag!!

Actually somebody older used to very sweetly send me shirts like that all the time —

giant blue-eyed white kitty faces with big pink bows and roses, huge flower pots full of pink and orange geraniums…. covering the whole front.

I just smiled and said thanks… and eventually I found a neighbor who actually wanted to wear them.

Thanks Leaky, Grapefruit is my “pre-breakfast” except for days when I’m in a hurry such as today. I got up earlier than normal to put on many layers and no grapefuit today, but I’ve got a bunch of chopped fruit and yogurt to take with me (and the oatmeal cookies that I’m sharing). I might eat bacon once in a while even now, but normally eat meat only without nitrates (even pepperoni and hot dogs). I prefer eggs fried in butter; they look dirty fried in the fat, as I like my bacon very well done.

I have banana and pear in a separate container so Fitzroy can share those; he doesn’t like sharp tasting fruit like pineapple and berries that I put with the Greek yogurt. I just checked the weather. It is only 52 now and we are having a cold spell; high of 61 would be OK for an outdoor event with sun, but it will be overcast and sprinkles (not many I hope). I see Joy will change her Cuisinart for a donut maker. I don’t see her going to that much trouble (almost as out of character as paying coffee house prices- I’ve never been to a Starbucks myself, but only because I prefer to eat at home. I’m sipping my pure hot cocoa with some heavy cream.

This was kind of nice. Patty got her chance to experience disappointment before she opened her gift.

Does Joy know what the rainbow symbol can mean?

When my wife, Kathy and I were first dating, our kids were already pretty much grown. We went to a 4th of July festival. They were selling the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat hats. We thought it would be fun to buy a couple and wear them around the kids to embarrass them. We picked out the rainbow ones because they were the most colorful. We had no idea at the time that this was the newest (new at that time), marking to advertise one was gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

We would go around for the next few days just wearing the hats without addressing them, hanging around our kids and their friends, including going to the pizza shop where one of them worked.

A few days later a friend told me what they were implying. Turns out our dear children knew, but instead of enlightening us, they chose to laugh at us behind our backs.

    DAMN KIDS!

Guess that was a Pennys’ moment for Kathy and me!

@SusanSunshineRe: Yesterday’s comment: You are absolutely right! I mostly use Firefox at home and IE at work. I have no choice what to use at work. On my laptop I usually use Chrome, just because it was already loaded there.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

I’ll bet you would have told Kathy and me about the rainbow symbol!

Does anyone remember the one Christmas where Joy bought Patty a blouse (one like Joy and Verl wear) and she found them on sale. It was buy one, get one free. So…. Joy as I remember said she was giving the “free” one to Patty. What a loving person!

My current Barony has a rainbow (but with distinctlively arranged colors) between 2 clouds and they also (more logically) use dragons (as we are Barony of Sundragon). The Archery event today was with that group. It was a very chilly and drizzly morning but I had a chilly dog for breakfast and some of the other home made dishes including my own (none of the store bought foods, but I understand that not everyone cooks). The most impressive gift in the exchange was a walking stick with a hand carved dragon at the top. Gifts were claimed at random (wrapped selection) by the number on the target that your arrow had found and after selecting a package, you either opened it or made claim to a gift you had seen previously. It was a fun event in spite of unseasonably cold weather.
