Even though Caufield has been getting on my nerves lately, Mrs. Olson is wrong here. Goofing around is what kids do. A good teacher uses it as a teaching tool. It’s fun to call on a the wise guy for the first answer to a complex question. It makes learning fun. Believe it or not, it focuses the students attention, if not to the subject matter,than to what’s going on in the classroom. Take that energy teach with it I say…
