Mom:Luann... Luann: Uh oh... Mom: Luann, why'd you get a "D" on this spelling test? Luan: That's not my fault, mom. You never drilled me on the words. Mom: You didn't ask me to! Luann: Right. That's cuz I didn't have my list. Mom: You never brought your spelling list home? Luann: No! I had to loan it to Knute cuz he forgot to copy the words off the board. Mom: And you didn't ask for it back? Luann: Yeah, but he lost it. Mom: Well, couldn't you go back to class and copy down the words? Luann: Nope. Mr. Fogarty always erases the board after class. Mom: Couldn't he tell you the words? Luan: he was in a staff meeting. Mom: What about Bernice? you could've copied her list... Luann: She was on a field trip. Luann: See, mom? It's not my fault! Mom: There's something wrong with how our kids were raised...they always blame everything on everyone else... Dad: That's not my fault

I end up blaming others a lot because I picked up the habit from my dad of doing this: “See? Now I/we/you can’t do _________ because you didn’t ______.” And then he complains about people blaming others for their problems.
