Actually, it began long ago. Ronda has carefully scripted Carson’s mornings since he can remember. First, it was the, “Put on Your Happy Face” song. Then the softly fluted “Sunrise Serenade”. “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and the “1812 Overture” were quickly followed by the “Ode to the Romans”. Then Charles Bronson’s readings of the “Essays of Jefferson”. George Carlin’s “The Lost Years” video, white noise, sounds of the seasons and hail storms were replaced by the soundtrack of “Oklahoma”, then the “Jazz Festival of 89”; next the stunning soundtrack of “Underwater Adventures” and most recently, the New International Version of the “Living Bible”…..Now he is taunted by Happy New Year, three mornings a week and Happy Birthday on the weekends. Carson usually has toast and coffee before going back to bed. Thankfully lunch has settled into a western theme with an occasional WWII battle reenactment, some military marching music as an added accent. Mostly it’s Roy Rogers and The Cisco Kid, but Ronda is experimenting with Zoro and Howdy Doody. Dinner has spun out of control. Carson has been has been left sitting in the dark, endless hours of opera, white cricket mating calls and yesterday’s weather reports lead the list of Ronda’s favorite background and ambiance accessories …….
He’s #2 on my “Morning 5”… right after Luann and before Argyle Sweater, Brewster Rockit then Herman… next 3 is Basic Instruction, Last Kiss, then Thats Priceless… can’t start my day without any of them!!!
