i dunno. Jimmy always has had the characters be affected by the things that life can send your way, i like that the characters grow and develop rather than just stay the same year in and year out like they do on some sitcoms.the situation Arlo and Janis are in is totally believable for parents in a similar situation. i hope Jimmy has Gene explain in the strip or his blog why he had Gene fall for Mary Lou when he had so many more options. did they stay in touch for years of reconnect when he was in college. this stuff is more entertaining to me than what they do at the office. Dilbert &co. cover that area pretty well or what the cat is thinking Garfield and Snoopy cover that

hmmm – let’s reverse a few things here. Arlo talks to the SO of a fictitious daughter and Janis asks him, “So what did you talk about?” Should Arlo’s response mirror Janis’s response vis a vis Mary Lou, what then.
