My other favorite … especially for WW II service men abroad in 1943 … is Bing Crosby’s “I’ll be home for Christmas.”…… My sincere best wishes for all your readers to have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Moreover, may all your days be blessed with happiness, health, and prosperity!

Too true! The metric system is a “dumbed down” collection of weights and measures developed so the uneducated masses could use it, making them better automatons in an industrialized economy. Be that for good or bad now most of the world uses it.

If God wanted us to use the metric system He would have made our feet a meter long.

One thousand milligrams equal one gram. Why do some medicines come in thousand milligram doses?

Some areas of construction in the US use metric, with all measurements specified in centimeters to avoid confusion between m, cm, mm,etc. But they are usually “soft” conversions from Imperial measurements. So you might have a set of plans for a warehouse showing a wall length of 6096 cm and a cabinet door with panel thickness of 0.635 cm. Yea, those are really handy numbers.

He he he, well, it’s just that when I was in 6th grade, in an American school, every single kid could simply NOT grasp the concept of moving the decimal point….except me :D

I wish Elvis Presley’s version of Blue Christmas had been a million hit winner. I love that. Nat King Cole singing O Holy Night is beautiful, too. Merry Christmas from SW PA.

the reason that the U.S. doesn’t use the metric system is because it is too easy. We Americans like a challenge!

“Dermatoglyphics” (15 letters) is “uncopyrightable” (also 15 letters).
