Michael really can clear out a room, can’t he? There must be some circumstance where that is a positive trait….

This is shaping up that it’ll be just he and Mona at his “party”. It’s not Mona I’d worry about in that case.

Michael has largely brought himself to this point through his own actions. To have poisoned the well so to speak and rendered himself a social pariah in Santa Monica would take an extraordinary amount of effort even if its only within the confines of an apartment complex.Mona is extremely unlikely to stick around if she is the only one there. She’s only there to witness the wreck in progress because she finds it amusing. If it gets boring or awkward she’ll make a V-line for the door with the aid of liberal amounts of pepper spray and any other heavy objects at hand. Michael may come to regret having all that medieval weaponry laying around.

Michael probably has undaignosed Asperger’s Syndrome. He doesn’t realize that you can’t go on and on about a subject that no one is interested in—he doesn’t even realize that people aren’t interested in his chain maille. In trying to imitate what he thinks is normal guy behavior with women, he comes off as creepy. JackButler is right—Michael needs some social skills classes!

yeah, this is kind of painful to watch, my 25 yr old son has aspergers, and this is almost like reading his life in a comic strip….but he does have his true friends who love him for his real self, not his awkward self.
