My son likes to “help” shovel our driveway, he’s 3 1/2 this year so obviously he doesn’t do so well but he likes being out there with mommy and daddy, and he has his own shovel, I think he only moves about a cupful of snow but he likes to “help”

I always enjoyed thinking I was helping my parents when I was small, and I enjoyed their companionship.

People, relax already. It’s a comic strip, not real life. It’s one person’s idea of an ideal situation and I for one read it to be cheered not beat over the head with more problems.

I like the whole feeling of the comic (that he wants to help daddy AND that daddy lets him). I like it better than the snow shoveling in today’s Family Circus, even though that is cute.

The time it takes out to shovel out the drive way Versus the time you spend with your kid that is willing to be with you.. I will take the extra time to shovel out the drive way now.. It makes it easier later on to shift him out of bed before noon on a Saturday to help me with a needed project.

My son enjoyed helping me push the lawnmower.

The family that play together, prays together, and works together, STAYS together.

Kinda like mama cheetahs teaching their cubs the ropes. It’s not so much what the cubs do right there and then, it’s what they’ll be able and willing to do later thanks to that early training (watch out, impalas).

The triumph of good parenting over efficiency.
