Finally made the switch to a very real looking artificial tree. Easy to set up. Very difficult to take down and store however!

I bet it’s fun to get all the needles on the whole tree out of the carpet.

The needles don’t all fall off — I typically keep my tree well past the city’s curbside pickup dates (as long as the needles are still flexible, and don’t snap when you bend them), then put it out behind the shed until next year’s pickup; 13 months later, through rain, wind, and snow, most needles are still on (though completely brown). I think fake trees are sad — no character (same every year) or smell; they are still better than nothing, but a little vacuuming is well worth the real tree for me.

I’d lose every time because I have an artificial tree.
