Through several modifications and now the emergency repairs, had only strengthened Neal’s conviction that the trapeze should have been anchored directly to the roof and not to the ceiling. Moving the furniture to the porch had been a stroke of genius, except the untimely rain had proven Nancy’s point about the Scot Guard; Neal hated that part. Her nagging about using a doubled breasted suit had been well founded, Neal hated that part. The thigh straps are useless, Neal hated that part. And Gilbert’s lucky polka dotted shirt had not been the asset Neal had envisioned.
Sometimes, you have to suffer for your art. Based on how he’s hangin’, Neal is going to be suffering a lot. Nancy is not sure about how she feels about this, given Neal’s lack of ardor recently. Ralph down at the meat market, who flirts with her incessantly, is beginning to look a lot more interesting.
