Throwing yourself on the mercy of the Court means that you’ll only end up landing on the floor with a resounding THUD, Charlie Brown!
The nuns never showed us any mercy!
Wishy washy Charlie Brown chorused his classmates.
Especially in a Catholic school, where I went.
Shades of Calvin.
Calvin would not have appoligised for it.
Africa is a big place. Tunisia or Burundi would have been a lot easier. But “I just never…” remains a formidable obstacle to academic compliance.
This pretty much explains why CB never graduated from the third grade…
Awwwwww!

When I was in 5th grade teach made me do a
report on Chad..and Mauritania Africa. I hated it!
To this day I break out in a sweat whenever I hear
those two words….Fortunately few people name their
kids Chad or Mauritania these days..
Which court?
In my Christian school, if a student didn’t do his or her homework, they got an hour of detention-standing facing the wall.
Sister Mary Beat-me-to-death WAS the court, and there was NO mercy!Of course, she was totally right- – -in the real world of jobs, the boss wouldn’t accept any excuses, either. And that was one of the things she was trying to teach.
