Don’t stocks have hand locking places too? I think this is just a developmental step on the way to Dr Guillotin’s invention.But of it was stocks, and he’s locked in, there should be a barrel present.
Sarcasm: Maybe his hands aren’t in the stocks to protect them in case the executioner misses the head. Wouldn’t want to butcher the poor convicted slob. That would be inhumane.
