This is also why we have never had to worry about a Martian invasion of the homeland.

You do realize that the founding fathers were more concerned with the citizens of this country keeping our government in line than keeping out invaders with that amendment, don’t you?

Actually, a good number of founding fathers may well have rooted for the South if they had been around. They did, however, leave PLENTY of documentation behind stating that personal ownership of firearms was necessary so the people could use force to remove the government when that proved appropriate. Madison and Jefferson probably left the most meaningful letters documenting that ideal, but there were others too.

I seem to remember a British invasion… Had something to do with the Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers….

Ah, nothing like a gross distortion of historical record AND the English language in order to promote the “liberal”/totalitarian viewpoint. And once again we see that being a “liberal” means caring not one whit about truth, facts or reality.

After today, I will never put a “What would Jesus do?” bumper sticker on my car. After 2000 years I wouldn’t want to assume anything.

Thomas Jefferson said, “The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.” and “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Quoting Cesare Beccaria)
