I suspect it is also to keep the Madonnas etc of the celebrity world from adopting a baby du jour since lately it is just so chic to have a “baby of color” in your entourage to show how compassionate and liberal you are.
Then once the photo op is done, you toss the little brat to your nannies and head on out, making sure the odd kid doesn’t get to the main parties etc for your real kids.
Also, it is very in for christians to adopt “heathen” children to raise them up to the lord etc. Makes one want to gag.
