How does one make a tofurkey, anyway? I saw butter molded into the shape of a turkey yesterday. Is tofu flexible enough to be molded likewise?

P.S.: No one had the heart to damage the butterball turkey…or was that the turkey butterball?

That’s one heck of a tofurkey.

Good irony, Dry. I haven’t had my first tofurkey yet, but I don’t know the weight of my turkey was.

I cooked my very first turkey yesterday, which is funny considering I love to cook. It has just always worked out that way. It was slated to happen again yesterday. My wife was going to have her son bbq the bird, as I had several other recipes that I was working on. I sensed a reluctance on his part . He has never cooked with indirect heat. The kitchen was packed with guests and I prefer having the kitchen to myself so that I can concentrate. In a spontaneous move I asked if he would prefer taking over my jobs and have me cook the turkey. He looked relieved. It was pleasant outside, I grabbed a cigar and a glass of zinfandel and went to work. The turkey had been butterflied so it lay flat on the grill. I ended up making the best turkey I have ever eaten. In 1hr 15min. the turkey went from raw to perfectly cooked with the white meat as moist as the dark. I loved it peace and quite, relaxation and a job well done.

Don’t get me started on tofu.

I wanted to make the forest in Kentucky, but couldn’t figure out how to combine Tofu with Kentucky and still be rated PG.

    Soya can’t win ‘em all.

    Happy Recovery Day All!

Tofutucky would’ve been better, in my opinion, than my previous suggestion.

(Thom wrote to me that the problem - for him as a cartoonist - is those last two syllables if he uses any variant of my original suggestion. Point taken.)
