    Because some comics are like a big, greasy cheeseburger from the local drive-in: over-the-top, probably not all that healthful, and likely to give you gas, but still irresitable.

    Flollowing up on what Joe said: I was talking on the phone to some Pakistani friends whose daughter had been born here and went to grade school here in the states before the family returned to Pakistan. When the daughter (now a teenager) came to the phone, I complimented her on how clearly she spoke English. She said, “I should, it’s my native tongue.” Glad she couldn’t see how red I got!

    Those of us who were born in Washington State, speak the purest, non-accented form of the United States version of the English language. That is why few can identify where we come from.
