SAM’S SCHOOL for SUPERVILLAINSBayonne, NJLesson #35: Right Choices for the GetawayWhile it is true that our case study is on his way out, we can still pick up a few tips from his less-than-stellar audition with us. We can’t see just what our aspiring antagonist is driving, but it’s apparently his vehicle, he has a reasonably good head start, and – let’s be honest – his pursuers haven’t got a chance. (They’re driving what appears to be “The Thing” from Volkswagen, for cryin’ out loud…)Commercials for certain luxury car brands purport to offer advice from “villains” touting the key features of the vehicle. The truth is, if villains had the money for those vehicles, they probably wouldn’t be taking up a life of crime in the first place. Sadly, it’s usually the heroes who get the hot and fancy cars (The Batmobile, Black Beauty, etc.) because they can afford to customize, or they work for the government and have every car, ship, aircraft, etc. at their disposal. What the budding bad guy has to learn, then, is how to pick the right car for “the getaway.” The odds are, you’re going to have to steal something, so if you’re going to take that kind of risk, at least steal something practical that can outrun almost anything else out there on the street… or the desert.

I guess iguanas don’t stick their heads out of moving car windows.
Iggy Pop from The Iguanas liked to hold his head out of moving car windows. His bassist from The Stooges, Scott Asheton just died 10Oct2015.
Requiescat In Pace, Asheton. \m/
