Actually, there are currently at least 26 players of African descent playing in the NHL, at least one of whom has played on a Stanley Cup winning team (Dustin Byfuglien); he was also selected as 1st team NHL All-Star in 2011.
Then there’s Grant Fuhr, who as goalie helped the Edmunton Oilers win 4 Stanley Cups in five years. He’s in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Thomas was well within his rights guaranteed by the Constitution to peacefully and in a nonthreatening manner express his displeasure and disagreement with the president. If it had been GWB, this would be a non-issue. But those with indefensible positions cry “racism” to prove it.
