Well, at least we know Luann isn’t completely self-centered.

Never forget in 6th grade putting off asking a girl who I had a huge crush on and talking about her all the time to my best friend about her and all her nice qualities. Guess what, He asked her to the dance and she accepted. Years later, in high school, while dancing with her at an after football dance I asked her if she remembered my asking her and she said that she would have accepted my date but she got tired of flirting with me to get me to ask. She brought the dance up whenever we talked with no response from me. Then my friend asked her and she just accepted it but she wanted to go with me. I never asked her out ever as she really wanted to go out with me even in high school. I did eventually marry my high school sweetheart but 8 years after graduating. We were married for 40+ years until she passed away. My only love of my life. Only woman except Mom & Sis who I told that I loved them. Guess I was really a one woman man. Poor Gunther! All Rosa can say is no. Keep asking, maybe Rosa will forget herself and say yes by mistake.

He might also be nervous about asking her,and get a YES. What should he do? What is it like to have a girlfriend? How would she react meeting his weird dependant (and possibly controlling) Mum? Seing his weird oldfashioned home?And his room that still looks like a 10 year old lived in it?Gunth is very human, and he’s not the only one out there who doesn’t have a clue what to do when really falling in love.

Gunther, here’s a pretty good “Litmus Test” to SEE if You’re with “Ms. Right” (or Mr. Right for you Gals):

Take a date, (Rosa, Luann, whoever) to see a movie, say like that “Hunger Games” thing next week. (For me it was the 1st Star Wars movie, NOW called Episode 4).

Okay now if at ANYTIME during the course of the movie your date touches you gently on the shoulder and LOUDLY asks if this movie is “based on ACTUAL Events” then Brother, You’re WITH the WRONG Friggin’ Person!

I, too, married the nerd who finally asked if he could give me a ride home and that he would keep his hands on he steering wheel. We will celebrate our 50th in May.

raster44 – you sound exactly like my Dad – he was a one woman man – my Mom was sick for a long time and treated my Dad badly (she had a mental illness so she really didn’t know what she was doing most of the time) but my Dad stuck by her for better or for worse. Don’t make men like my Dad and you anymore!

Because he has this all figured out, it almost sounds as if he is hoping that Rosa will move on. His life was much easier and more predictable before she came into the picture. He reminds me of Raj in Big Bang, but he’s too young to start drinking.
