Having the fixed seats, and veto, has caused many problems. At the same time, while many of these dudes, not just Assad, truly DO suck, and abuse their citizens, like well, hmmm, Netanyahu as well, when IS it appropriate for people to overthrow their governments, or for other nations to intervene in INTERNAL issues? Just because “we” don’t like ‘em, doesn’t make ‘em wrong. Just because we DO like ’em, doesn’t make ‘em pure either. Oh, wait, evil and on OUR side DOES make ’em OK- until, like Saddam, or Assad, their actions aren’t in OUR best interests.
