The boxes have been sliding down hills since I took over the strip years ago! Nancy and Sluggo’s adventures come from my children’s childhood adventures and the childhood memories of me and my brothers and sisters. Anything to slide down those Connecticut hills. I hope you enjoy the strip.
We had snow followed by ice in January, and a cardboard box would have made a great sled on that! Wish I would have thought of it, probably would have tried it even at my old age!
Real sleds aren’t always that great either. Once I was going down a hill lickety-split and the sled hit a snag. I kept on going about ten or so feet on my face.Often, if one kid had a sled, we’d double up. The good old days.

I’m sure they could, but a cardboard box is more fun.

Anyone who has tried sledding in a cardboard box knows it doesn’t work. Only if you cut it into one long piece and pull the front up does it work.
