Well… if you HAD to kill off your current strip and you could change the other any way you wanted, why not just do that and make the new strip like your old strip (maybe keep the names that are already on the old strip). Like free the slaves, bring them into the current day (and whatever city you’re in), give them (oddly) similar jobs to you and your friends and “subtly” change their personalities to be similar to the ones in the current strip. How hard would that be? ;-)
