BTW, has anybody else here been a substitute teacher on April Fools Day? You’d think middle school would be the worst, right? Nope, 3rd grade. I was tricked by two kitten-cute little girls . One chatted me up, I can’t remember what she was asking, while the other snuck behind me and put a string of yarn around my leg and the leg of my chair and tied it loosely…of course, when I walked, the chair dragged along with me…I was really impressed….

I wonder if Frazz knows they changed the route? The cobblestone “wall” of Geraardsbergen isn’t on the parcours anymore… Anyway I’m curious about the Tour of Flanders tomorrow for the first time in my life :-D

Flanders’ revenge for King Philip II and the Spanish Inquisition?

@Varnes, I’m impressed too. Yesterday (not even April Fools Day) my 6th graders could only come up with stupid pranks – drop books, etc. – and I’ve taught for 34 years. I told them I was deeply disappointed that they couldn’t be more creative. That 3rd graders would pull that off on a sub – and you’d honor it … Great stuff.

Varnes…the question is, how did you react to that prank?

Well, I broke a bone in my wrist in a crash Thursday, and rode up The Greenville Watershed today, which is almost as bad as cobblestones, so I can empathize.

masterskrain, I rode on the passenger side of an SUV as it crawled up the road to the top of Mt. Washington….I’ve never been more scared in my life..the outside switchback curves were the worst….

Blondie, I laughed with the rest of the class. I even told the girls who did it I was impressed…I told them that I’d never had that done to me before….But from now on, there was a new rule……The No Tying the Teacher to His Chair Rule…..They laughed at that….You have to be real with kids……teaching doesn’t work any other way…
