This is so f*%@ing wrong. I’m hoping that most of the commenters here refrain from judgement and lewdness. That they do understand that if looks like what Michael did here is legally defined as rape. And that he did it taking advantage of someone he thought of as a friend.
A weird guy, but not a bad guy. Probably fully capable of being kind to a blacked-out-drunk neighbor who staggered into his place, pulled off her pants, blubbered a little, and passed the rest of the way out.
I don’t know where JB intends to take this, but if I was there this is the advice I would give to Mona. Call 9-11 as soon as you can reach a phone. Then go to your friends, Donna will go ballistic. Michael’s reputation around the building is well known, the police will haul him off just to keep him from getting lynched. Then just let justice take its course, a guy like that would not last five seconds in the County Jail once word gets out that he’s being charged with a sexual offense.
I have little sympathy for looney Michael, but Mona is leaping to unwarranted conclusions. Michael is not a rapist, whatever his many annoying eccentricities. (And they are truly many.)
Yes, I know this is a work of fiction. At the same time its on a topic that I take very seriously seeing as such a thing happened to someone I am very close to.
I think that Mona would be more upset over the getting emotional and crying with anyone than with the possibility of drunken sex. I also note that Michael is fully clothed for which I thank Jennifer B…
Michael’s too clueless to understand what Mona’s getting at, and that’s the only reason he hasn’t set her straight.
There’s a parallel here to a while back when Lucas had his Tylenol episode and woke up on Mona’s sofa. Of course wrong conclusions will be leapt to. Mona’s doing it, we’re doing it (with differing degrees of seriousness), and I have little doubt that Donna and Pierre will do it. But I even less doubt that the conclusions are, nonetheless, wrong.

I’m hoping Michael saved her from the bartender. Just sayin. It’s kinda strange that Mona couldn’t hold her liquor all of a sudden.

Michael’s just messing with her.
He’s going to make her actually ask if they had sex before telling her nothing happened.
