    I beg to differ..the jitters is from withdrawal from something….the heebie jeebies is as in, “That guy gives me the heebie jeebies.”

    Freud was a “Hebe”, as I recall, but they say they think that is not related to the origin of heebie jeebies, from a comic strip in the 20’s.

    According to the Cassell Dictionary of Slang, “heebie jeebies” first showed up in Billy Derbeck’s “Barney Google” strip in the New York American, October 26, 1923.
