Lohman and Barkley, mornings at KFI in LA, did this gag in reference to Howard Cosell’s description of a world series where the teams were “scratching and clawing.” L&B commented that all they saw was scratching and spitting. It’s been 26 years and I still miss those guys. At least Shoe carries on the Jeff tradition very well.
It’s easier to practice what’s close at hand. People get good at what they do a lot…which is why in the old days in moom pix and tv there were lots of shots of people talking on phones or lighting each others’ cigarettes…

I haven’t been reading In the Bleachers for a while. Thanks for the tip.
Now why would a professional bench-warmer need a collar. It may be useful to keep every-day players in line though.
