Susan, chocolate’s good, but I’m a big fan of jelly beans….a BIG fan…..and there are so many kinds now, not just regular and spicey…. (Mmmmmm ….regular and spicy…..) Thanks to 21st century technology, there are new flavors….This is truly a renaissance age for jelly beans…Happy Easter everybody! (How long before Wester?)

Had a car for so long, the maker name and brand name started breaking off – by the time repair would cost more than it as worth, I had an “uth sapro”.

Judging by his conquistador helmet, the guy probably thought it was a 57’ Chevy. (Pronounced ch as in cherry.)

So why IS it called Plymouth Rock? (In my elementary days, I was pronouncing it “ply-(as in plywood)mouth (as in what you eat with) Rock”).

Landing where a group of Native Americans worship the mighty tailfin? I could go for that. With my luck it would be ancient ruins with the remains of flat roofed glassed in houses, swag lights on chains, and all the streamlined appliances turning to rust.I’d be like Burgess Meredith walking around saying; “that’s not fair, that’s just not fair at all”

After Plymouth in England, the last old world port they set sail from before hitting the new workd. Plymouth in England is at the moutn of the river Plym.. At least that’s what they named the colony. They probably didn’t land at the rock.

    Studebakers rock!

And Varnes… the only jelly beans I really like are the black licorice ones. Not too pretty in an Easter basket but I like to buy a bag.None around this year so far.

    Aces… my mistake! Beautiful, though.

I will never be a big car person (or jelly beans either). A car is just a way to move myself and most candy is unhealthy (tho’ I love good chocolate and nuts and I’ll make some old fashioned stuff now and then). I try to only create once in a while for special reasons (and a healthy version if I can).

I rather love the one that Aces showed (big fins with turbo shaping and pink yet). Those were rather special.

Appears to be a 1957 Buick Century 2 Dr. hardtop. The fin type looks a bit off for that year but close enough.

Also, back in the 50’s, GM had the quality edge by far. The rest rusted away fast [that’s why they are sooooo valuable now if you find a pristine Ford or Chrysler product]. But nowadays the quality is close and always debatable.
