Yup, I thought about that when I started and within six months I knew it wasn’t for me. Did nothing about it and 25 years later got downsized. Three years after my heart attack. I have several large regrets on my life.
Inflation and the rising cost of living are more or less continuous. If you are being paid the same that you were last year then you really are working for less and less.
Especially as a woman in engineering, I found that all my extra private studies were unappreciated by a current employer. When I applied to NEW employers that changed and by the time I retired I was earning all I needed for a great life. I am a happy person!
