What's with the umbrella? There's not a cloud in the sky. Just last week thousands of swallows returned to Capistrano from their wintering grounds 6,000 miles away. I don't take any chances and tell all the stragglers are in.

My old, dark red, unwashed "94 Mercury Topaz is a beacon for the birds, They splat the roof, the doors, the windows. Especially if I forget to refill the bird feeders. (or maybe they’re telling me to wash the car!).
