Bucky’s idea of a perfect gift for Rob is fish in a can, and preferably a type of fish that Rob is allergic to (since vegetarians can sometimes snap back to sanity).

Bucky is just trying to get Satchel to get discouraged, and go try to find a new gift so that once Satch is gone, Bucky can grab the book and pretend that it was his gift/idea the whole time (and he wouldn’t have to spend any money on it either!)

I’ve read that book and it’s AWESOME!!!
