Who knows a boy better than his dog? I actually had a poodle named Snoopy as a kid who could always sense that I’d had a rotten day at school (and there were a lot of them), so he’d fetch the tennis ball he made EVERYBODY throw for him and drop it in my lap like he was trying to cheer me up the best way he knew how.
As horrified as I was when my parents brought home a poodle (not what a 12-year-old boy wants for a dog), Snoopy became my best pal and was like my shadow. We had him for 13 years and although it’s been over 25 years since he passed away, I still miss him dearly. He wasn’t just a “pet”…he was like a little brother.
Dogs make great therapists. My dog’s technique for helping me overcoming sadness is to drop a toy at my feet, “play your cares away.” And if that doesn’t work there’s always the resting his chin on my knee technique, “there, there, I’m with you, everything will be ok.” Best therapy chicken treats can buy!

Yep. Exactly what I was thinking. At least with Snoopy, he’ll get his nickel’s worth.

Amazing. The strip is able to pull off such realistic human turmoil and also just absolutely absurd moments. This one’s hysterical.

@Snoopy_Fan
I’m all right now. Thank you for your sweet kind words yesterday.
That was nice of you to look for me over at Andy Capp. You will normally see me there a lot.
I would look for you on Peanuts every single day if you ever stopped coming on GoComics suddenly.
I hope you don’t by the way. I love seeing you here!

Snoopy looks right at home as an assistant psychiatrist. And he does resemble Mr. Peabody.
