Yup. The country’s all settled up. Where my bud and I used to shoot rabbits on our way to school is now a shopping mall, where your fat, lazy kids in bike helmets(snark!) come fearfully for their expensive electronic distractions so they can cower and snack safely in dark, insulated rooms…
Bunch of domesticated little clucklettes, more affected by their prescription for a profitable newly disease which keeps them from learning a rough and tumble social justice…ah, cubby up in your fears, enjoy the unearned barbecue, pretend you would put yourselves on the line for the country…spending your ancestors’ hard-won liberty in ignorance and distractive illusions…should I be the one to tell you about the hard-driving ethnic groups intending to make good here, evenif it comes from taking more of yours?
Yow, tigre1, harsh. While your principles are generally easy to accept (although, did you eat those rabbits you shot?), a major problem in our society is lack of intellectual growth (bullying is all about pecking order, I understand, but maybe pecking order as a concept has seen its heyday). Maybe you’ve been watching too much UFC? I watch that, but realize that it’s not a model I want my grand kids to follow (unless they took a whack in the head in motocross).
…(musing)…wonder what the pioneers would actually think about today’s world – considering how hard their lives were, didn’t they want things better and easier for their kids, grandkids, et al? Don’t all parents?…(end of musing)…On another note, Agnes sounds like she is really speaking with the voice of experience regarding those hot dog rollers…
I know for certain that the appearance of the teacher, let alone any adult (at least one who is not related to her), is pretty rare for the Agnes strip. But is it unprecedented? Usually when she’s talking to the teacher or principal, only Agnes is shown. Is this the teacher’s first appearance?
This is the first time I remember seeing a teacher or the Principal. But the Christmas arc showed the motel clerk. And i seem to remember one before that when Granny got a major league toothache and had to have a root canal. That showed either a dentist or dental tech, if memory serves.
hot dog rollers have the advantage of being hot – thus a better warning of impending danger. or at least of an ouchie. Now those moving handrail thingies on the escalator? Those drag your fingers into that tiny little gap at the without warning!

Rather regretfully, I have to agree. It’s rather a sad reflection on what our society has become.
I hope that nobody in Agnes’ class is traumatized by hot dog rollers. Using free range hot dogs can minimize that possibility.

@tigre1 – Huh?
@jadoo823 – I agree. Sounds like Agnes and the hot dog rollers have had prior exposure.

So this is her teacher. We finally meet her teacher face to face. The principal could be next.
