And oh man, this is going to be a serious cat fight when Wally gets in there to confront Flask. What is he going to do? And he doesn’t know that Flask is armed, either.
Ahh, the power of the close up.AaronN has the unique ability to turn cartoons into cinematic art.Wally has a plan and judging by the tears he does not expect to survive.
Wow, wally is so sure he is going to be killed.. Marx isn’t leaving the ship either, but he is also obviously not worried. Seems like one of them should ask him why.If I had a flying ship that was about to be crashed into something by an insane cat, I would be DOing something!Wally ought to ask him about his carelessness. Where Did Petey go? They haven’t asked about that either.
This is so sad for Wally and Holly. I don’t think AN. would smash US into the ground by letting them get killed either! He’s nicer than that. It’s getting so tense!
Ok, for those of you reading this in outside world time and not real time, Wally is under a huge amount of pressure, things are going by fast, and Flask is playing mindgames with all of them in order to keep them jumping and to prevent them from thinking clearly. Wally and Holly are thus completely wrapped up in their own concerns and what Marx is doing isn’t registering in their consciousness yet. If either of them think about it at all, they’re just writing Marx off as “he’s weird that way”. One of the benefits of letting people believe that you’re an unreliable goofball is eventually they leave you alone and you can catch up on some long overdue reading.
I’m not sure how long they’ve been together, but I’m pretty sure that it’s been longer than a few days. There was some passage of time when they were in Endtown, both before they became lovers and after. I would say that they’ve been together a few months?
And just because Aaron Marx has given them a clue doesn’t mean they HAVE a clue. I haven’t read all the comments in recent days, but none of the ones I have read jump to the same conclusion I have. Guess I’ll have to swim back. Especially since if I spotted a potential plot twist, it’s probably NOT what Aaron Neathery has up his sleeve.
I don’t think Wally’s going to have to go in there alone. I keep coming back to Linda, and the comments she made a while back about not being able to get any traction for her anger. When Petey tells her why he wants to leave, she’s going to find that traction real fast. Hang on to your hats folks, nine minutes in Endtown could easily translate into two weeks here! I feel pretty safe in saying that I expect we end this week with Wally still in the hallway…
Remember that Linda has a child with the topsiders. Once she knows that Flask has planned, look for maternal protective instincts to cut in. And given that she’s not happy being a mutant, suicidal solutions would be perfectly acceptable.
Still say AM is testing everyone and the dittos are making it look like there’s a TSer city out there. Mr Squigglely Face is in on it too. This is AM’s ship, have no doubts about it.
How about this? Wally prepares to kick the door in and . . .cliffhanger time, it’s Friday. Monday, Mr. Talky Face says to Flask, “Hey big kitty, remember when….” and off we go to Flask’s back story. Maybe then Flask comes around and Wally doesn’t have to attack a well armed insane cat.
Let’s see now, Wally’s not leaving, AM’s not leaving, Holly’s not leaving, bet you a week’s pay Linda’s not leaving, that just leaves Petey and the PT and I’m not really sure how he plans to even get it out of the bin, let alone to the ground. I guess it’s really just the brain that’s critical, but he still needs something to put it in. I haven’t noticed any spare brain cases sitting around, but when you consider what Flask came up with, dumpster diving might turn up something useful. But remember, it was Mallard, working thru the (pre Petey) robot that did the job before. Petey’s a bright guy, but he’s a TRUCK Jim, not a doctor! (Obscure Star Trek TOS reference) ;-)
Have fun at the ‘burg, my wife’s old stomping grounds (actually Zelienople but close enough). You are at the Convention center just one week before the NHL draft would be in town. The Pirates are out of town and most likely, I would guess that you are using sneaker-mobile to get around (no rent-a-wreak). If you can get to it, try Primanti Brothers 2 South Market Street, about 8 blocks for the convention center). A sandwich that will feed a family of four for a week, meat. Slaw, French fries and a fried egg all one sandwich. Don’t know if you can get beans on it though ;-)
Remember Marx has his trained dittos. All that is needed is that the ship thinks that Flask is dead long enough for Wally to take chrage to enact the ship’s escape mechanism.
On another note, how much confidence will the topsiders have in their orbital survellance system after this event. After all a flying galleon shows up out of nowhere to just diasppear after their automatic defense systems kick in.
Aaron Neathery and I are sitting at the table in our hotel room, drawing magic things to make people go OO.Such as a cartoon of Flask in Doc Rat’s office, preparing for an examination.
