Years and years ago, Slim wasn’t the brightest in the room, but he wasn’t so incredibly stupid, and he was also the gentle soul that tempered the brighter Clovia’s angry impulses. I don’t know why he has been turned into a doofus.
Calling an animal smart just because he randomly “picked” some numbers that won a lottery is a lot dumber than anything Slim has ever done. Lucky has been very lucky for his new owner (who seems to like to gloat about his good fortune) but that does not make him smart. That being said, cats are very smart. They cannot, however, read or cypher (except for Joe Gray, Kit and Dulcie but they are special).
Slim is lovable but sometimes being that dumb can result in bad things happening. What is out of sync here is that he is a fair mechanic but so backward about life!
