That would get them a possible tax break with some random person sure, but it kinda loses the POINT of marriage benifits.
Rights lost by denying marriage to ANY couple: Pleeding the 5th. You can not be forced to testify against/incriminate a spouse. You can be held in comtempt of court if you refuse to testify about any one else.Visitation. most hospitals deny non-family visitations to those in intesive care.Inheritance. Doesn’t matter if all the property and bills are in both names, if the person you’re living with dies in 2013, you pay nothing if you’re married and up to 55% if you’re not.
