I still hold doors open for ladies, and they still appreciate it. But I’m happy to thank them when THEY hold a door for ME; especially if I’m holding a big box and can’t open the door myself.
I agree 100%! It was women’s lib that demanded they be called “women” and not “ladies,” and that they can open their own doors, didn’t need a gentleman (or any man) to pull their chair out for them at a restaurant, etc.It’s a shame because some women appreciate being treated like a lady, but the guys are such clods and wouldn’t dream of opening a door for their female friend.
