Q*bert took his cue from the clueless cubits of QWERTYU!(By the way, the way I remember it, Q*bert was the first arcade game to cuss, but of course it was censored, thus the asterisk…..Or as Rat from “Pearls” might say: “@#$%*!!!!”)
Thanks, those who thanked me… but fair’s fair.I didn’t explain it first…. Arch and Chireef did!Dogsniff, you couldn’t possibly be as bad at video games as I am.I used to think my scores might be lower than pure probability would assign, because I lost points just by trying.I used to love Chuck E. Cheese’s when one opened here. It was too expensive to maintain….but back then it was full of giant animatronic anthromorphic animals (wow, say THAT fast!) including a tall lion Elvis impersonator and a lavender hippo chanteuse on the piano, with fluttering eyelashes and huge, furry, decolletage that heaved mightily, and made all the little boys giggle. But you got tokens so you played video games…I liked to “fly” the giant prehistoric birds in Joust till they crashed… which was very quickly….and I can still hear that mocking robot voice from whatever game says “Some galactic defender YOU are, Space Cadet.”

I loved Q*bert. One of the few games I was good at. I had usurped all others to become Supreme Noser.

Thanks for the explanations. How would I ever get some of the jokes without GoComics’s commenters. :)
