I remember when I was young and I did not like books that did not have pictures. So that’s why I liked Comic books so much!
As Alice would say, what use is a book without pictures or conversations?
I’m an avid reader, but my favorite books are mysteries. I really don’t see “book clubs” delving into all the intricacies of “who dunit” . Agatha Christie used to include pictures………..usually drawings of the floor plans where the murders took place.
