Yeah. I’ve tried that in the past when I would play softball, and my dad told me that gritting teeth and bearing down only made the situation worse. I guess I should have realized that if it didn’t work for Charlie, it wasn’t going to work for me.
Charlie Brown did save the day and win the game once, in the 1980’s, I think. Schulz seemed to have come to terms with his own childhood and gave his alter ego a break.
Everyone loves an underdog. And wait a sec, why is Linus baring his teeth?! I thought Linus was supposed to be Charlie Brown’s faithful and supportive friend!!!!!!
Sometime in the 90s, I think, CB got a home run. It turned out that the girl let him get it because she felt sorry for him. She was Roy Hobbs’ granddaughter.
I was never any good at playing games in gym class. But one day, I managed to throw balls over the net three times in volley ball. I just hit it with all my might. Charlie Brown needs to do the same.

I still wish Charlie Brown had managed to have at least one good Win in his life…

This teeth-gritting storyline is dragging on a bit. I need some misadventures for Snoopy.

I’ll have to look for that one. As long as he caught a break at least once in his 50 years of childhood, It’d be satisfying to see.

One time a girl pitcher who thought he was cute threw him some easy homers… Don’t know if that’s any consolation though.
