this seems to date to about 1933—the fuller front fender came in around then and the gas pump with the handle dates it too and still drawn buy Bud Fisher.
I’ve always enjoyed viewing Mutt & Jeff but for some reason I don’t understand I have been X’ed out. Guess I am getting to old to know what is going on.
Bud Fisher’s contract was good, so lucrative, that he could have his assistant Ed Mack take over the strip and draw it, all the while having it look to non-industry insiders that he was still hard at work. Fisher started the strip around 1910 or so and was an older man by 1933.

Bud Fisher didn’t draw anything in 1933 except a paycheck. Ed Mack drew this strip.
