    I’ll let you all know that one of my best friends is a gentleman named Cohen — and he’s Catholic. It isn’t just a Jewish surname any more.

    KM, it’s about the general perception, not about the exceptions.

    I have a Danish friend, whose last name is Nakamura, because of her father’s adoption by his stepfather.By your logic a comic about a Mr. Nakamura saying “flied lice” would be OK, cos even though he’s exhibiting a commonly (and offensively) perceived Japanese trait, he could be Norwegian.
