What’s not to get? After you see a bad movie don’t you comment on how bad it was? Same thing here. It’s why it’s called a ‘Comments" section. And i’m not sure you should be passing judgment on people waisting time. It’s says on your profile you’ve collected over 300,000 comic strips and that you’re archiving them. Guess what good doctor, it’s already been done.
I agree. B.C and The Wizard of ID are like old friends from youth, 50 years gone bye. Not always funny but satire and social commentary doesn’t need be. Sometimes it’s just lifes observations that a cartoonist picks up on with the characters he/she has at their disposal. Then there’s Clumsy Carp, ’nuff said.
If you have seen clumsy watching the fish in past strips – he lays on the bank of the stream on his belly – and puts his head in the water. This would make tanning the body easy – but tanning the face difficult. Therein lies the joke (I think). The taped eyelids are just a setup, but not necessary for the main punchline.

Try driving a couple hundred miles east in a convertible on a sunny day. You’ll wish is was tan.

Well, that is it. I am done with BC. It was good for a long time and it is too bad but I guess everything dies.

Seriously, does anyone understand this? If so, please explain the joke. I actually don’t get it. It might be funny if I understood the joke.

A great deal of the appeal of this strip for me is the great puns and intelligent comments. Erudite analysis-not so much.

Yeah, totally. I just went online and searched for “comic, doctor, toon, know-it-all” and look what came up.

I believe the only time B.C. is funny is when the snake and the Fat Broad are both featured. I like the dictionary or word meanings too.
