Laura: I love these late Summer evenings. Adam: Takes me back to younger days. Laura: I close my eyes and I hear the crickets and I'm a little girl again. My mom's inside making dinner and I can smell her spaghetti. My dad's in the den reading the newspaper. I get so sentimental for those days sometimes... Such a simpler time. Adam: Uhh... I could go make some spaghetti. Laura: I love you. Go easy on the garlic, though... You know what it does to your system.

There were two kinds; one with sauce and Parmesan to put on top, the other when you were sick, and had crushed tomatoes mixed in. Next rainy day (please God, Tuesday), I’m having that. with a Broccoli side.
We CAN create the “good ol’ days”, and share them.

Laura that was a sneaky way to get Adam to make dinner.

I remember my Great Aunt, (mail order bride from Italy, came here through Ellis Island) used to make spaghetti noodles from scratch. She would put a clean linen tablecloth on her dining room table, roll the dough out, then roll it into a long log and just slice through that “slick as a whistle”. And she made the best sauce. I forget what all she served, but I remember the spaghetti, sauce, meatballs and fried chicken every Sunday. And hot peppers fried in olive oil and garlic.
