You know…I noticed that too. Those details differenciate the great artists like Hogarth, Foster and A. Rymond from the rest. It is, in a way, a disrespect to the reader, to suggest things so impossible to achieve.
Hector – depends how deep the pit is. If Tarzan sets his feet and reaches down to scoop the dog, then pulls up with his arm with his feet set, he may reach the pit’s lip. His feet serve as a pivot point – they don’t move. Suppose the pit is 8 feet to the water. Tarzan sets his feet 6’ down and gets a foothold. Reaches down 2’ to the dog. Then using his left arm, pulls his upper body with his feet set, so he is standing along the pit wall as if he was cvlimbing. Lifts the dog head high, which is about the level of the lip, Jane takes it, Tarzan now has 2 hands to climb out.
Though the vine in #2 seems clockwise, and #3 counter…
Yes, yes, still too complicate. If Celardo had studied the situation and showed a logical rescue nothing of this conversation would heve been necessary.
NO stupid Jane! That pooch is very hungry and really likes Tarzan’s calf, yum-yum! Anyway, once they follow “Rover” the new adventure will begin, as if it hasn’t already…..:)= Umgowa!

First aid!! Note the roots of the tree in left top of panel one—looks like a giant Eagle’s Claw.

If this plotline goes nowhere, Tarzan could zip over to The Far Side of Suburbia and help Rufus and Biff, they’re REALLY in trouble.
